Have you ever had an experience that gave you chills?
That ranks right up there, with the greatest of thrills....
Brought on both flashbacks and visions of the future to come;
made you think of where you're going; at the same time from whence you've come from.
Made you think the world you live inreally might be ready for change;
some said it could NEVER happen;God said..."I can arrange."
Had folks spitting out opinions, all kinds of chatter
realizing profoundly, their voice really did matter.
I had to just be still in the moment and not take for granted a thing.
I heard a faint whisper...Martin,"Let Freedom Ring!"
Others held conversations all around me; they had so much to discuss;
but I stood in Rosa's stilled footsteps;as she sat steadfast at the front of the bus.
It was as if the screen before me,was a TV rolling highlights through the years.
They stood, as they were stoned and beaten;allowing courage to overshadow their fears.
As simple a matter as it seemed;some may treat it as a joke.
But I knew a prodigious price was paid;for my right to vote.
This time it was different. At times a little difficult to believe.
Among the names that were listed;was the making of history.
This was bigger than just a super Tuesday;and much bigger than a headline on the news;
more than a source of argument, for those ladies on The View.
This brilliant man running for chief; his ancestors forced to call someone master;
Here he was laying out his plan; leading our nation from it's present state of national disaster.
Race is a tiny fraction of his character. It doesn't by far define the man;
He represents the rainbow of our country and it's issues,
so I pushed the button, cast my vote and agreed Yes We Can!
